Gathered Generations

This dining room was envisioned as a celebration of both architecture and family heritage. Soaring cathedral ceilings, elegant crown moulding, and traditional wainscoting establish a timeless backdrop, creating a space that feels both grand and welcoming.

At the heart of the design is a treasured heirloom cabinet from my great-aunt's home in St. Louis. Rather than refinishing the piece, I chose to honour its history by preserving the vibrant moss-green colour she originally selected—a meaningful nod to the generations who enjoyed it before. Blue and white chinoiserie vases were layered throughout the space, bringing classic pattern, texture, and collected charm.

The room is anchored by another family treasure: a dining table and chair set from the beloved Eisenberg's Fine Furniture, a cherished institution that has since closed its doors. Together, these heirloom pieces create a narrative rich in memory and craftsmanship, while thoughtful styling and architectural detailing ensure the room feels elegant, curated, and enduring.
